Fall in Love with Sepia
One of my favorite wedding photographers is Elizabeth Messina. She is also a film photographer and her work is absolutely breathtaking. Not long ago, she and a few other photographer's work inspired me to switch to film and I have not regretted the decision one bit. Actually, I am in the process of selling my digital equipments (Let me know if you are interested). One of Elizabeth's signature look is her sepia toned photographs. And how I love those! I am starting to playing around with sepia colors in photoshop, but I am hoping to find a lab that can do it for me during the scanning process in the near future.
Picture above was shot by my husband on Kodak bw400cn.

Kenna
"Kenna is a very happy child," her mother tells me. And she sure is! She only knows laughter and smiles. May those days last forever...

A Sad Story
My parents in-law used to own a very nice Chinese furniture and ornament shop in New Jersey. Due to the economy, they had to close it down recently. Jesse and I went there to helped them move everything to a warehouse last month.
It was so sad to see it happening. The business had been around for more than 50 years. It was first opened by Jesse's grandmother who was the first generation in the family that immigrated to America. I remembered when I was in the shop, a lady came in with her daughter telling me that she still remembers coming into the store with her father when she was a little girl. There were many old customers that visited the shop during it's final weeks who told us how much they will miss the store once it's gone.
There are a lot of businesses closing down these days, it almost seems like the norm, but having it happen in your own family is another story. But life will go on, and perhaps once the economy gets better the shop will reopen again. I can only hope for the best.

First Portrait of Me
As a photographer, I rarely have any photos of myself. So I begged my hubby to take some photos of me so I can update my profile on my blog and other social media sites. He never used my film camera before, but he was a really quick learner. I thought the pictures turn out great! This one is my favorite.
Shot on Kodak Professional BW400CN. First time using this film. Love it!

Little Jackson
Little Jackson is growing up so fast! Just a few months ago he could only crawl, and now he is walking around everywhere. One thing that hasn't changed is his love for his mommy. His preferred method of travel is being held in mommy's arms. When food is presented, his first instinct is to feed it to his mommy. I was so touched the first time I saw it happening.
This is a preview of the photo session. More pictures to come soon!
