"If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle."

Patrick's Studio
I photographed my friend Patrick Higgins' studio in Bellevue, Kentucky a while back. I was like a kid in a candy store taking in everything in the room, mesmerized by all the instruments, tools, ingredient jars, and many more interesting looking things I couldn't name. It was hard to imagine the amount of work and skills required to turn a piece of wood into a violin, a viola, or a cello. The process, according to Patrick, hadn't changed since several hundred years ago. And because they are all made by hand, every piece is unique.

Dreaming of France
I am going to France! I can't believe it. It's still a few weeks away, but I am already dreaming about all the places I will go and all the food I will taste, and of course, how I will document the trip with my camera. Oh, I can't wait!
