Me and My New Hat

Knitted Hat
With all the things that are going on in my life right now it's been a challenge to find time to knit. Sadly, the only project I was able to finish this winter was a hat for myself. I am still quit satisfied with it though. At least I did "something" with my needles and it turned out pretty good. This lovely yellow yarn is Debbie Bliss's Alpaca Silk. It's so soft and warm I wish I had more to make a sweater from. The pattern is called Cabled Beret from Debbie Bliss Knitting Magazine Fall/Winter 2008. After washing, I blocked it on a dinner plate to set the shape. I was surprised it fit quite well.

New Toy
My new toy! A Yashica-D twin lens reflex camera. I am still trying to get used to looking down instead of having the camera covering my face all the time. It doesn't have a meter so I have to use a hand held one. Everything about it is so different than what I have been used to.Yet, it's fascinating! I am shooting my first few rolls of 120 film with it and I can't wait to see the results.

No More Snow!
The weather is looking better and better each day, and so is my mood. Above is a picture from last month when my mom was helping us shoveling the snow. So glad I don't have to do THAT anymore. Or should I keep my fingers crossed?
