Standing Cello

Yes, the cello is standing on it's own! It was Kurt Sassmannshaus' brilliant idea.

Mommoth Cave

People seem to love catfish around Mammoth Cave area. Every restaurant we ate at had fried catfish on their menu. It was pretty good though.

Trio

These are some really talented musicians here. From left to right: Kurt Sassmannshaus (violin), Christoph Sassmannshaus (cello), and Haeri Suh (piano). They will be performing both in Cincinnati and NYC in the coming up months. If you are in Cincinnati, make sure to check out CCM's concert schedule to find out when they are performing.

The Sichak Family

When Christine Sichak asked me to photograph her family earlier this year I was so excited! Her two boys were very sweet and good mannered for their age. They actually let me give them hugs! More pictures to come later...

Serenity Hill

It was raining the morning we had to leave Mammoth Cave National Park, but it was never the less beautiful and peaceful. We loved the bed and breakfast that we stayed in. It really felt like home away from home, warm, comforting, with good food. Thank you James and Debra!

New Camera, New Experiences

My first two rolls on the Yashica D didn't come out as good as I hoped. First, it was easy to make double exposures if you forgot to advance the film manually. Second, my metering was totally off by a few stops under as you could see in the color shift below. Time to practice more with it. Invest in a "real" hand-held light meter probably will help.

Olives

Eating olives didn't come natural to me. It wasn't until college years that I started liking them. Don't ask me how it happened. It just did. Recently, I discovered a local Greek grocer, Athena Foods. They are among the best Mediterranean grocery stores in town offering a wide selection of olive salads and homemade giros. Who says Cincinnati is boring?
