It was barely two months ago when I visited Milwaukee. The weather just started to get warmer. My husband and I went on a guided tour around the city. It was great! Good food, good weather, good company. Well worth the investment!

Boxes and Photos

new boxes and photos
I recently ordered some new packaging materials including some 11x14 and flash drive boxes. I love the imprints on them! So worth the extra investment. Also new are the framed photos I put up in the dinning room. It's amazing how a few simple things can really spice up the room.

First T-Shirt!

New Red T
Yay!!! I did it! I finally took the plunge and made my first t-shirt. It took a year before I got the courage to try sewing with knit fabric. Thanks to Wendy Mullin's Sew U Home Stretch. She really made it easier for me to give it a try. And all I want to say is I wished I had done this sooner. It was sooooo much easier than I imagined. Actually, I think it's easier than sewing with woven since the stretchiness in the fabric made it very forgiving in terms of fit. The fabric was a bamboo knit from Joann's I purchased a year ago. Due to my weariness with knits I waited till now to use it. Again, totally unnecessary.

I am actually wearying this t-shirt backwards with the back to the front, but I like it better this way. I left the seams unfinished on the sleeves and zigzagged the neckline. Since it was my first try I wanted to make the process as easy as I could. Well, I am sold. You can be sure I will be making more t-shirts from now on.

Maru

Maru
Life started out not so easy for Maru as she was bred to be sold in one of those chain pet stores. Luckily, she met a very responsible mom, Fang Fang, who took good care of her and made her less afraid of the world. They had many ups and downs together, but things did fall into place. It was a story with a happy ending.

Lavender

Lavender
I am proud to say I have lavender in my garden. Two years ago, I brought home one tiny plant from a local nursery and patiently waited for it grow bigger. And this spring it has really blossomed. I love the soft feel and the lovely fragrance. It was definitely worth the wait.

Maru, come!

I am so excited to post this picture of Maru, my good friend Fang Fang's baby Pomeranian. The first time I saw Maru I was so smitten that it made me want a puppy of my own so badly (which I did get one soon after). It was wonderful to be able to photograph her. I will post more pictures from the session soon.
