Pine Cones

Pine Cones
I am falling in love with Reala 100 film. The color is so vibrant and creamy, just the way I like it.

Seeing Red

I love seeing the color red in the winter time. It's so festive and adds a bit of drama to the season.

Homemade Chinese Pancake

Stuffed Pancake
I love having my mom visiting. It means lots of homemade Chinese food, which is very different than what you get at the Chinese restaurants here. My mom made these delicious pancakes the other day. They are stuffed with shiitake mushrooms, daikon radish, and ground pork. Yum...

In case you were wondering which camera I used, yes, these pictures were from the first roll of film (Fujicolor Superia Reala 100) shot on my F5. I am loving this camera.

survivor
These are broken parts of a succulent plant which I don't know the name for. They were rescued a month ago and now they still look okay. I am hoping they will survive the winter and set roots by spring.

IKEA Photo Shoot

My mom and I were shopping at IKEA one day and I took this photo of her standing against the wall at the cafeteria. The fluorescent lighting was a little harsh, but I still kinda like it.

Shot on Fuji Neopan 400 with a Minolta X-700.

Coming Soon - First Roll on F5

I finally finished my first roll of film on my Nikon F5 today. No, the picture shown below was not from this roll since I haven't gotten a chance to get it developed and scanned yet. Sorry. It took me a while to start using my new toy because I didn't have a decent camera strap and was afraid to drop it if I went out without one. Luckily, I got a really nice strap from UPstrap for Christmas (Thank you, Aunt Susan!) so now I am almost always with my F5. I even walk my dog while caring this thing. It's bulky and heavy, but I love it. I am sure I look a little ridiculous walking around town with this giant, but what the heck, call me crazy. My old Minolta X-700 is probably a lot easier to carry around, but I am just too anxious to find out how well the matrix meter work on the F5. So in the mean time the F5 is my point-and-shoot. I can't wait to share the photos on here once I get them back from the lab, but for now I will end this post with a recent photo of my mom shot with the Minolta.

Mini 2010 Resolution

Violin
I am calling it mini because I know if I put too many down I probably won't achieve much. So here it is:
  1. Be more organized.
  2. Improve my violin playing. That means, practice more. (Yes, I am also a violinist.)
  3. Improve my photography skills.
That's it! Let see how I manage this year. Both violin and photography takes time and effort. It will be a challenge for sure. In the mean time, happy 2010!!!
